Shall We Talk About #Planners…
As you can see my @krafttex #diy #fauxdori is still hanging in there after being tossed around in my bag on a daily basis. I’ve tried using an insert as a #bulletjournal but that didn’t last nor did creating my own #monthlyspread or #weeklylayout. I love the way they look when other people design them, but it’s not something I’m able to dedicate the time to doing right now. I do really like an insert I made with little #happyplanner size boxes on the pages that I’ve been using to sketch out my ideas for #stickers when I’m on the go. So I’ll continue using my #handmade #dori for sketching ideas and working on my #handwriting.

This & That Printable Planner Stickers
This is the latest set of #printable #stickers in my shop. I was playing in my #planner and in the notes section I started various lists that I pretty much have the same titles for repeatedly. I made some headers and icons to that will work in all types of #planners, #notebooks, and #journals. #HappyPlanning! #Scrapcraftastic #eclp #erincondren #ec #kikkik #plumplanner #plumpaper #filofax #filo #colorcrushplanner #colorcrush #travelersnotebook #tn #midori #inserts

Rainbow Star Lists FREE Printable Planner Stickers
Here's another set of free printable planner stickers sized for The Happy Planner. I created two versions. The first one has small spaces between each for those who are using scissors to cut the stickers. It gives you a little wiggle room.
I also try to layout the designs so that you can print on either 8.5 x.11 shipping labels or 5.5 x 8.5 shipping labels which is what I use right now to print since the smaller labels are what I had on hand.
This second version is for those using a paper cutter to cut out the stickers. I've included cut marks to help you align on the cutter..

DIY Planner Update
Eleven days in, and I'm not as happy with my DIY planner as I'd hoped. I guess I'm giving in to keeping up with the Jonses, because I ordered a Happy Planner today from Hobby Lobby. With a 40% off coupon, the shipping and taxes were more than covered. It would have been nice to actually check out the planner in the store, but the shelves were empty :-(. I was so disappointed, but it all worked out. Hobby Lobby shipping is slow, but when I checked on Amazon, there was a notice that said the product usually ships within 3 to 5 weeks. That was too long to wait. Let's hope Hobby Lobby can do better than that.
I like what I've done with the cover of my DIY Planner. I just don't have the time that I thought I would have to create weekly pages and other custom pages. I'm hoping that as I decide what formats I need for the various departments of my life, I will be able to insert pages as needed since the Me and My Big Ideas (mambi) Happy Planner uses a disc system. I like the flexibility it offers which allows me to still do my own thing.
Stay tuned for an unboxing post or video....

My DIY Planner
Today is the first day that I'm officially using my DIY planner. I've made a few entries, but I know that I want to further customize each day of the week to work for me.
I would like to schedule multiple actcities for my crafting and my graphic design. I also need to have room for personal activities. I knew going in that a prefab planner wouldn't work for me. I hope to sort out a custom layout for my 2016 pages soon. I also need to develop a color scheme. I like pink A LOT but it's not doing it for me with this planner.
I did a little craft shopping for the pet album I'm working on today, and I picked up a roll of black Kraft-tex from Hobby Lobby. I originally wanted to use it for the cover of the album, but it was too thick for my design.
After looking at photos on the packaging, I had one of those great ideas of mine. I can use the Kraft-tex to create a cover for my 2016 planner! All I need is the binder rings and I will have complete control over the size and design of my planner! I don't know why I have the need to make everything. Maybe it's the control freak in me.
I'm not happy with the hard cover binder on my planner now, so switching to the durable and flexible Kraft-tex cover will be great! I can even make my own pockets on the inside cover.
Have you created anything with Kraft-tex?

Getting Organized: I Need a Planner
Because of my craft/scrapbook/paper addiction, I have been learning all sorts of new things. Apparently there is a huge community of people who use paper planners and there are all sorts of crafty goodies and supplies available just for planners.
I've been avoiding calendars and planners since they always seem like wasted money. I've had so many planners that end up tucked away in a desk drawer and finally land in "file 13" (the trash).
More and more I've been using Google calendar especially for appointments since I can set notifications. Part of my problem with planners is that I forget to check them.
With my memory not being what it was and with my schedule filling fast, I need something more. I want using a planner to be fun. I think if it speaks to me like creating mini albums I won't have a problem using it or checking it.
I want my planner to keep me on schedule and also act as a daily journal. I don't want a diary to write about my thoughts and feelings. I need to keep track of when I last had the A/C repair or what happened when I took Miss Sookie, my cat to the Vet.
I would like to get started with using a planner on June 1st. In addition to appointments, a micro journal, budget and bill tracking, I would like to use my planner for blog and video post ideas and scheduling, and project scheduling for my book cover design business.
After watching several DIY planner videos on YouTube, I've decided to make my own planner! I'm so excited!
Do you use a planner? Is your planner digital, paper or a combination of both? Did you design your own planner or do you use one of the popular planning system?
